we drove all the way to cornwall and didn't even have a cornish pasty

we were lucky enough to be able to spend a long May day bank holiday weekend in Cornwall

if anyone is thinking about going soon we stayed at a great place called Retallack near Padstow (or PadStein if you are a Rick Stein fan!) We had a great 2 bedroom house with a big bathroom, kitchen, living room, decking area out front and patio with BBQ out the back. Its quite a new little resort, very peaceful, helpful staff and they have an indoor pool/gym/spa etc for when the weather is not so great. Thankfully we were blessed with sunshine - although it was accompanied by a very cold wind!

We spent most of our trip visiting the different coves and beaches....not forgetting the eateries along the way! We had breakfast at Jamie Oliver's 'fifteen' restaurant {I had the french toast with bacon - divine}, fish and chips from Rick Stein's chippy and then on our way home we stopped in Bath and came across one of Jamie's Italian restaurants...it would have been rude not to stop there for lunch {the carbonara was delicious, Jacob and Seth were like little vultures stealing it though}

It was great to get away for a few nights - and we really enjoyed having the house, we planned to stay at Travelodges but this actually worked out cheaper and a million times more convenient. Here are a few pictures from our travels...
